EPCs Harrogate, North Yorkshire

For residential houses and commercial buildings

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) have been introduced to help improve the energy efficiency of buildings. If you are buying or selling a property you now require a certificate by law. As of October 2008, EPCs are required whenever a building is constructed, sold or rented out.

The certificate provides 'A' to 'G' ratings for the building, with 'A' being the most energy efficient and 'G' being the least, with the average up to now being 'D'. Award accredited energy assessors produce EPCs alongside an associated report which suggests improvements to make a building more energy efficient. Using our network of assessors we are able to produce and deliver reports on a national basis.

The EPC will include:

• The energy efficiency of the dwelling
• The carbon emissions figure
• The cost of lighting, heating and hot water per annum
• Recommendations on ways to improve the home's energy efficiency
